Brecon started the brighter putting pressure on the Merthyr line. From turnover ball Sam Farrar Evans ran the length of the field to score under the posts. From the restart Pierce Jones made a strong run and from quick ball Farrar Evans added a second. Brecon replied with a well constructed try of their own. It didn’t take long for Farrar Evans to complete his hatrick .Further trys were added by Ryan Evans and Luke Raynes, at 33-7 up at half time it looked like it would be a short shift for the lads but to Brecons credit they dug deep and prevented Merthyr scoring for 15 minutes of the second half. Further trys were added by Jack Marsh 2, Jason Jones and Nathan Jones with Marsh and Jones kicking 4 conversions each. There were excellent performances from Joseph Foulkes and Adam Hoskins.
