While the European Championship was taking place you may have noticed on TV reference to the link between Donetsk and Merthyr (Donetsk was originally called Hughesovska after John Hughes from Merthyr Tydfil who founded the town, now city, in the 19th century). Next Friday, July 13th a group of young people from Donetsk are visiting the town. We at the club will be their hosts and we will take them to Cyfarthfa museum and to the club, before moving on to the Mayor's Parlour where the Mayor, Lisa Mytton, will greet them.
The plan is to greet the boys at the club at about 2pm on Friday. Supporters of the club are welcome to come along and meet the youngsters, who are keen supporters of Shaktar Donetsk.
