Aim of the Academy - The Academy
The Merthyr Town FC Academy (formerly Merthyr Tydfil Football Academy) was established in 2004 with the primary aim of providing local players the opportunity to develop to the best of their ability.
The Academy aims to provide quality coaching opportunities for the identified talented players in the borough and surrounding areas coached by fully qualified UEFA/FAW coaching staff.
In addition the Academy also provides the opportunity to compete against some of the best players in their age group across Wales playing against other licensed Welsh Premier League Academies and professional clubs as part of the FAW Academies structure.
At present the Academy caters for over 120 players aged 7 - 18 with the emphasis on developing players to their full potential.
