Methley Royals, with an `A' team whioh had several changes to the side that lost at Elland seven days earlier, slipped to an honourable 30-18 this afternoon at Barnsley Broncos.

, were on level terms at 12-12 at the interval, after having posted tries by Eric Banner and Jake Dickinson
, who goaled each effort.
The Broncos pulled away to 24-12 as injuries took their toll, before Dickinson converted Banner’s second try to bring Methley, who had gone close at 16-12 adrift when Rob Wright
was hauled down, within shouting distance.
was tackled just short of the line in a promising raid, and Barnsley went on to add a clinching try and conversion against a Methley side that closed with 12 men after a spate of injuries.

shone in his first outing for Methley since last June's Kippax Sevens, and there were telling displays up front by Craig Savage, Mark Pritchard

Daniel Blanchard, Andrew Cutler, Josh Fletcher, Callam French, Joe Taylor, Scott Blackley and Chris Palmer crossed for the home side in a game well-controlled by Paul Crashley.
