I know the 5-2 defeat isn't what anyone wants in any game but what everyone has to realise is that we used Tuesday night's game as a trial for many new players.

I mixed up both sides and played two completely teams so I am not bothered what so ever by the end result.

We were disappointing at times, probably responsible for at least two of their goals (if not three) but we scored two, hit the crossbar twice, had one cleared off the line and their keeper made a few good saves. This is very promising to me as we looked far better going forward already than we did for most of last season!

Some of that team will be told that they will not play in our first team and those who leave as a result I wish them all the very best and thank them for training with us over the week and a half.

Moving onto Saturday, I will probably have fewer players involved than Tuesday but will still look at other trialists to give us the best opportunity to see if there are any players worthy of joining our squad. It will be a tough game but one we can look forward to.
