Jim gave us an update on player news for next season together with the news that Steve Sutherland has left the club.

Pre Season has begun and another player has joined the exodus of players who have left us from last seasons squad.

" as reported in another post on the website, Steve Sutherland has informed the club that he will be joining Dulwich Hamlet FC.

Steve is another defender we have lost from last years squad including Will Salmon, Ric Joseph, Jay Lovett and James Aldred.

We have signed three defenders thus far to replace those named above. Reece Yorke joins us from Slough Town. Reece is a solid defender who is very comfortable on the ball. He has represented England Schoolboys and was a professional footballer at Barnet FC. Elliott Cox has also signed. Elliott has been on our radar when he was playing for Hastings a few years ago. He was at QPR as a youngster and has also played for Margate and Maidstone. He was VCD Athletic player of the year last season. Ishmail Thomas joins us from Chipstead. Ishmail is friends with Nik Ahamed who recommends him very highly. Nik was at Chelsea FC with Ishmail. Another defender is Jordan Gill who joins us after playing football in America. Prior to his studies in the USA Jordan was at Chesham FC. Looking at him in pre season training, I am very pleased he has decided to come over to us.

Moving up the field, I am delighted that Ryan James has returned to the club from Margate. It will come as no surprise that when Ryan left us to join Margate last season our form dipped alarmingly, so to have him back is a massive boost for us. Joining him are two wingers. Orlando Smith and Dee Okojie. Dee joins from Tonbridge Angels. He has been a thorn in our sides every time we played against him. His pace and trickery on the ball will make us very dangerous out wide. Orlando is another exciting prospect who will introduce pace to the side. His previous clubs include Bromley, Aveley and Maidstone

Moving onto the forwards, we have signed James Cottee and Julian Owusu. James is no stranger to our club as he was part of our first youth team a few years back. He has matured both as a person and player and will no doubt score goals if he is provided with the opportunities. Julian is a powerful quick centre forward who can give opposition defenders a tough time. I am looking to add another forward to the ranks in a short time but will announce that nearer to the start of the season.

The squad is smaller than last season. We have kept the core of the side that was so successful and have a close bunch of lads who will want to finish what they started last season. Yes we have lost some very good players but have replaced them with others who have the ability to make us even stronger. I am relishing the season ahead and expect to be up near the top of the league"
