Jim Cooper gave us the first team news ahead of the Needham Market game tomorrow & some light hearted banter...

We have a few players returning for tomorrow's game at home to Needham Market. Steve Sutherland returns from his enforced lay off after the " not a dangerous tackle" (Referee quotes after Billericay FC) has kept him out for 18 days, Neil Barrett trained last night so he will also be in contention. Tauren Roberts and Tamille Roach are also available after missing the League cup in midweek. We will still be without Jon Nurse, Ryan James, Orlando Smith, Rob Bartley and recent addition to the injury list Harry Tamplin and in truth none of those are imminent to return.

The boys will be encouraged that an expensive bottle of Prosecco will be awarded to the Met's man of the match after The Good Wine Shop (in Esher) agreed to sponsor the home fixtures. I imagine Steve Sutherland and Ex Uni' lad Joe Turner will be gunning for this as they have a penchant for fine wines whereas Elliott Taylor would probably have been happy if a bottle of Blue Nun was on offer !!.

On a side note, our youth team won their F A Youth cup game against Knaphill FC 3-0 so they are one more round closer to playing against professional teams. I believe that their next opponents are either Folkestone or Eastbourne Borough at home so hopefully they can progress further.
