Young Blues in touching distance of title

A tight 2-1 win again fellow contenders Woking, gave the Blues a grasp on the championship

The Met Police Youth Team moved to within touching distance of their first ever Ryman Youth League Title and with it a potential League and County Cup double following a 2-1 away with over one of their nearest challengers Woking on Monday night. The Blues raced into a 2-0 lead with goals from Prince Eze “OJ” and Caleb Hendicott after only 15 minutes. Although Woking looked dangerous from a series of free kicks in and around our box we could have even gone in at half time with a bigger lead as Luke Mitchell saw his effort come back off the bar. Woking had a greater share of the 2nd half but had their keeper to thank for a point blank save to stop us from going 3-0 up. Woking’s pressure paid as they got a goal back to make for an entertaining last 15 minutes but the Blues held on and now need just one more win from their remaining 3 league games to secure the title.
