Youth Team defeat high flying Chipstead in a 2-1 hard fought victory
The Youth Team were back in league action for the first time this year against top of the table Chipstead at Imber Court. On a cold and extremely wet evening our Under 18’s managed to secure a 2-1 win.
Having gone a goal behind after 20 minutes from a corner, the Blues responded well and goals from Gaddiel Ntantu and John Gilbert ensured the Met took a 2-1 lead in at half time. Police had numerous opportunities to kill the game off but were wasteful in front of goal and Chipstead always looked a threat on the counter. For large periods of the game it was end to end stuff and with parts of the pitch now starting to resemble a ploughed field towards the end both teams did well to keep the quality of football at a good level.
The 3 points now takes us closer to the top and another big game at home to Woking on Monday evening. The Ground Staff will be in for a shock this morning, all the best lads!
