Pirates 27 - Ryde 62

That's the first game out of the way, with a result that didn't do Pirates any favors at all.

the season is underway at last and Pirates hosted Ryde, the matched started with Pirates holding all the cards, strong in the breakdown and taking an early 20-0 lead. Then something happened, it all went wrong!!!

A couple of weak tries from Ryde and the Pirates heads dropped, going in to Half time 2nd best.

The second half was more of a contest until the last 15 minutes, Pirates seemed to run out of steam and Ryde put in some easy tries.
