Managers Comments Under 10's
Its nearly the start of my 2nd season already! What a first year.
I am the U10's Manager, Joe asked me to become the Manager of the previous Under 9's team when my son Nicholas was playing for them, with a little peer pressure from Nicholas at my side (please Dad, Pleeeaaaaseeee!) I was persuaded to take on the challenge and how rewarding it has been.

So here we are and counting down the days to a new Season.

The enthusiasm shown by the Boy's during training is very exciting and we are all looking forward to the coming season. We just now need to start to work on positional awareness and to start to play as a team. It's a big challenge for the children at this age and a bigger one for me!

The teams first competitive competition took place at the Derby County Academy Cup at Derby County's Training Grounds in Oakwood in May 08. It was the first time the team had played together and we all had a great day out. We won't mention the results, but as the day went on we got better, started to score a few more goals and certainly kept more out!

The season was up and down for us, win one lose one, and one of only 2 teams who took points off the league winners, but for our first season to finish 4th we are all really proud.

Likes; Children who want to have fun whilst still having a competitive edge, Players who want to pass the ball about, Boys who listen to instructions. But don't forget, Loads of Goals!!!! Favourite Team Derby County.

Dislikes; One player teams! Not passing the ball! Players trying to win an Oscar whilst falling over!! Players who don't listen? Forgetting to run back to defend. Forgeting your shin pads, Arriving late for Match's, Children with fingers in their mouth or nose whilst trying to play football! Boys who need the toilet 5 minutes after arriving at training! Mums and Dads taking it all too seriously!
