Just read on the Evo site site that we are being deducted 3 points for fielding a player when he was suspended -Bradford at Home. I am 'gobsmacked' How did this happen. Still in a state of shock. I would and could expect this of a sunday team - lets hope we have greater control on the pitch . So upset |

Agree David, we are up against it enough without this happening. Who is responsible for this happening?! Im afraid the people behind the scenes at the club haven't covered themselves in glory these last few weeks. First of all the budget cuts at this crucial time of the season then this error, it is shambolic. The players must be gutted, their battling their hearts out week in week out trying to stay up and then this. Keep plugging away lads! Cmon Sports!! |

From what I hear the lads have known about this for a while although I suspect it is still a painful blow for them. As regards to who's to blame I would imagine it was the club secretary (naming no names) who slipped up. Let's hope the 3 deducted points don't prove to be costly at the end of the season. The lads need all the support they can get now it's going to be a tough few months for them! |

Oh marvellous..... well played. Someone's dropped a bollock on this one..... how can we not work out that someone is suspended? |

Certainly in the Derby City league it is the league secretary who contacts the club secretary whose job it is then to pass down any relevant paperwork associated with fines suspensions and administration matters to individual managers. I am presuming it is the same sort of system in place here, however... were the player and coaching staff not aware of an impending suspension looming? Or did they just work on the basis of "We've not heard anything, so you're playing..." without checking the lines of communication. Also, I'd imagine the "people behind the scenes" on this particular fowl up aren't entirely one and the same or indeed comparable to the "people behind the scenes" who have been forced into making the financial measures. |

This catastrophe could be fatal, it was always going to be tight without this happening. Mistakes can and do happen but at this level it is almost unbelievable. Didn't the player or management suspect he might be suspended ? Were no questions asked and records checked? If everyone is fit and available for every game i still think we will escape but we could certainly have done without this 'foul' up. |

Whilst not defending the mistake, I think it is unfair to say that this is unbelieveable at this level. In the NPL this season alone Northwich & Grantham have had points deducted for the same reason, and I have seen similar things over the years in various leagues. Let's just hope that it is not the difference between relegation & survival. The scene is now set for a 'Great Escape', the team overcoming injuries, suspensions, budget cuts and points deductions to rally together, go on an ubeaten run to the end of the season and avoid relegation. That is more exciting than simply cruising in mid table between now and the end of the season. |

Your right James it has happened to other clubs this season, these clubs came out and made statements explaining who had made the mistake and the reason why. Also the said person apologised to the fans for their mistake. The first we hear is off the Evo Stik website months down the line. What also makes it a harder bitter pill to swallow is the fact that we won that game comfortably! Just our luck not to have made that mistake in a game we lost! As i presume we would not have any points docked then? |

And not sure about the exciting end to the season i'd rather get enough points to stay up and so be it if we have a meaningless last few games rather than chance going down! I'm sure we will stay up though, weve started to look alot more solid defensively lately and with Karl Ashton to come back we will start picking up points in no time! Cmon you sports!!! |

James, Northwich and Grantham had points deducted for minor irregularities with their paperwork, Grantham didn't put a players date of birth on the form and Northwich had conflicting information on two different forms. I think this is quite different to playing a suspended player. Everyone knew George had been sent off at Buxton (harshly in my opinion), and that a ban was looming. |
