District Schools Under 15 Rugby Returns

1 year ago By Jamie Willis

Competitive District Schools rugby returns this weekend with many players from Mid District Clubs involved.

Pontypridd Schools Under 15s will kick off the Dewar Shield competition when they entertain Swansea at Sardis Road on Friday evening. This fixture will be the culmination of a junior rugby festival hosted by Pontypridd through-out Friday afternoon and evening.
On Saturday, Rhondda Schools will look to continue their brilliant recent record in the tournament when they make the trip to their Llanelli counterparts in what should be a tough encounter.

In the Dewar (Lawerence Miller) Bowl, Merthyr Schools will kick off their campaign with a home tie against South Powys, whilst the Rhymney Valley Schoolboys will play host to Aberavon Schools. Both games are scheduled for Saturday.

In the Dewar (Morgan Griffiths) Plate, the Cynon Valley Schools Under 15s face a tough away trip to Mynedd Mawr & Dinefwr, also on Saturday.

The Mid District Rugby Union sends out their best wishes to all schoolboys in this year’s tournaments.
