Our first game in nearly five weeks showed signs of rustiness in an otherwise even first half. The second half started brightly and Midhurst began to find some of their pre Christmas form with some good possession and good passing on an extremely flat Rotherfield surface. Clear cut chances were rare for both teams but Midhurst battled hard and got their reward late on. A good ball in from the right hand side saw George Bernett glance a well taken volley past the Worthing keeper with only a few minutes remaining. The Young Stags then held on comfortable to see the game out and start the new year with a win.
