On a wet but playable pitch with the rain pouring down Midhurst took on Felpham Colts Athletic. Felpham took an early lead before Midhurst struck back with two goals from Joe C. However Felpham always looked dangerous in attack and Midhurst’s lead did not last long as they let in two goals from set pieces. A well worked goal from Joe T restored parity before a great solo goal from their always dangerous number ten meant Midhurst went into the break a goal down.

The rain was if anything getting heavier and both mangers were urging their players to move about and try and stay warm. The game progressed with Midhurst on top throughout the second half even though goalkeeper Jacob N had to save well twice, but Midhurst could not just get the right shot away. Right at the end as Midhurst pressed forward another breakaway goal by Felpham’s number ten gave them a margin of victory they did not deserve.
