On behalf of the SCFL I would like to congratulate you and the club on achieving this ‘Momentous occasion’ on achieving the installation of the floodlights.

Many years ago (probably approx.15) I remember attending a meeting with Peter Bentley, Ted Dummer, Cowdary Estates manager and various other club people to discuss the possibility of installing floodlights.

At first a few of the optimists felt it was never achievable due to the area that the ground sits in.

It does show that sometimes with hard work, patience and the right support things can be achieved, but then sometimes it is not.

Anyway a great night for the club and we will try to have a league presence for the game to show support for the club.

I will give my apologise as I go on leave early tomorrow morning but if the club do arrange an official opening then I will certainly like to be there.
