Midhurst have now dropped 12 points from winning positions

St Francis Rangers 3 - 3 Midhurst

Same old story for the Stags who yet again let slip 2 valuable points in the closing seconds of a game.
Midhurst have now dropped 12 points from winning positions in games with seconds to spare and this may cost them dearly for a top six finish they so really wish for.
On a rather testing bobbly and sloping pitch Midhurst did play some neat intricate football at times but rarely threatened.
It was the host who looked the hungrier and most passionate of both the teams in the first half but like Midhurst little end product.
Midhurst's first real threat created the only goal. Hotson, Hamilton, Dormer and Morris linked well down the left for a cut back to Hyde. His strike from 18 yards nestled into the bottom of the net.
A time for the stags to push on. But there was little time. No sooner had kick off been taken the host were level. A through ball was cut of and St Francis number 9 finished cooly.
Half time 1 - 1.
The second half started well for Midhurst. Kemplin grew into the game and was a handful. His non stop work ethic created chances. Hyde and Dormer both had great chances but denied.
The early possession and lack of a second goal would haunt Midhurst.
On 65 minutes May conceded a rather soft free kick 20 yards out. A deft dink over the wall saw Cowell rooted to the spot only to see the ball creep in to the net.
2 - 1 Rangers.
This sparked a new lease of life into the stags and knew attack was the best form of defence with this scoreline and a win needed. Grantham made several marauding runs from centre back to get Attacks going, and he did this well for the equaliser. His pass found Norgate who knocked down for Hyde to smash home for 2 - 2.
Late drama as always followed. With the referees clock ticking into the 92nd minute Hyde won a corner. Hamilton's delivery found Martin who's header nestled into the right foot of Hyde. His strike was stopped on the line by a Rangers defender but the rebound fell to Norgate to get a touch and bundle home.
If only Midhurst could hang onto leads. St Francis instantly hit back. Several costly errors led to Nawks being unmarked at the back post to tap home with seconds to spare and equalise.
