The Stags 3-2 Little Common
Mike Asare scores another brace to ensure another valuable 3 relegation points
Trevor Waller welcomed both Paul Williamson, Mike Page and Jamie Angell back into the starting line up. The Stags lined up with an attacking 3 man front line which constantly caused problems for the visiting back 4.
Mike Asare opened the scoring after 20 minutes when he surged forward and side stepped a number of visiting defenders before smashing the ball past the hapless Common keeper. It must be said that space was created by great off the ball runs by both Harry Menah and Jason Silver which created the chance. A similiar set up saw Asare score his and the Stags 2nd goal to lead at half time by 2 goals to nil.
The second half was pretty scrappy until the home team extended their lead when some great inter-play between Pearce, Silver, Asare and Dreckmann saw Ollie Pearce (pictured) finally extend the home side lead to 3.
At the 90 minute mark it seemed that the Stags would have only their second clean sheet of the season but 2 visiting goals at the 92 and 96 minute point saw the final score to be a lot tighter that it should have been.
This result saw the Stags lift off from the bottom of the table for the first time since September, which gave the Midhurst team a massive boost post match.
