The game started at a fast pace with both teams having plenty of touches of the ball. Early action saw Mildenhall force two corners which unfortunately could not be converted. AFC Sudbury demonstrated their high quality crossing with two early chances being dealt with by Josh Pope. However 9 minutes in Kemp, who was lively all night, put in a good cross from the right and after Berquez got something on the ball which Davidson blasted home to open the scoring. Soon after, Patterson had an opportunity to level the scoring receiving a good cross from the right but unfortunately shot over the bar. Wilkinson for AFC fed a great ball through to Rymer, however Sam Parkinson put in a last ditch tackle to delay the counter, Tyler Kemp unable to convert the loose ball.
AFC’s second goal came on the half hour mark, Kemp crossing from the right and the ball being headed in to his own net by Harvey. A minute later AFC were three up, another Kemp cross found Davidson who again fired home. Mildenhall were still working hard to get chances ad were unlucky when a ball into the box was spilled by Archer in the AFC goal but was able to regain it before a Hall player could poke it home.

Half time AFC 3 - 0 Mildenhall

Second half had started and soon after the restart Mildenhall made changes with Enaro going off and McCabe came on before a long range shot from Burroughs was saved comfortably by Archer who had had little to do. Hall were keeping the ball better and had forced a couple of corners before Burroughs left the fray and Nurse took over before Steed had a shot that was tipped over by Archer for another corner.
Scott Kemp was again involved with a cross after good passing with his brother down the right hand side of AFC’s attack. Mildenhall made their last substitution with Judge going off and Jack Minns coming on. Minns was involved straight away putting a good cross in for Holder who was just off side. Henshaw then saw a header go over the Popes bar and Nurse booked for showing some dissent over a free kick given against him.

It was Nurse who gave his side a consolation goal in the eighty-seventh minutes taking a free-kick on the left of the penalty area and firing directly home with ball going in off the far post. Minns Then had another chance that was well blocked by two AFC players which if had gone in would have made the last mins very interesting. Although the score line shows a 3 - 1 the game was a lot closer on the stats.
