Our 2013 East Premier League campaign begins TOMORROW (Saturday 18th May) at St. Ives Roosters - and MK Wolves are looking to get off to a flyer.

Last weekend's scheduled opener at Kings Lynn was postponed by mutual agreement due to player commitments (not least MKRUFC's stunning run in the Lewis Cup), and will be re-scheduled for later in the season. So, with an extra week on the rest of the division, we're hoping to make the strongest possible start on Saturday at St. Ives.

The Roosters began their 2013 campaign way back in April against Bedford Tigers - a game that itself had to be rearranged by mutual agreement due to player commitments. Despite an even first half, the Tigers emerged victors by 38-20, so St. Ives will be seeking their first win of the season this weekend.

This will be a first visit to California Road for the Wolves - we were unable to fulfill last season's match at St. Ives, but we'll be fit and champing at the bit this time round, eager to flex our rugby league muscles.

However, we do have memorable history with the Roosters: our one win in last year's debut season came at Emerson Valley against then-table-topping St. Ives; a result that surprised all but MK Wolves, as we'd been working hard toward that first deserved "W".

This year, hard work in training, a disciplined well-drilled squad, and 100% commitment to your team and your comrades means we should be able to celebrate a few more "W"s on the board.

For those playing / supporting, meet at Emerson Valley at 12noon on Saturday. For those driving, we're off to:

Enjoy it, and bring back the "W"!

(P.s. - due to a mix-up in shipping, please bring your own shorts & socks. Ours are on the way, but for this weekend, we'll be rocking the Barbarians look. On the flip side, our shirts look bloody great).
