The official start to the new season is always marked by the Baytree Challenge Cup between Milton Nomads and Weston Crusaders.
2011 is our turn to host the annual event and we would love it to be the best yet.

It is always held over the August Bank Holiday Weekend and we have confirmed the date Saturday 27th August.

This year, each age group will play twice, scoring 3 points for each win, 1 point for a draw and 0 for a loss, with the club achieving the highest score at the end, winning the Baytree Cup 2011.

(U8’s and will play non competitive games as per FA regulations and although their scores will not be recorded towards the overall result, I personally can’t wait to watch our future stars in action)

There will be a £2 per player entry donation, which will be added to any other funds from the side stalls and attractions on the day and go towards the purchase of a small secure external unit to store our pitch marking equipment plus wall brackets for the new full size goals and a number of age groups are desperate for additional training and match balls.

The first KO’s are at 1100 and we have arranged plenty of additional attractions for the whole family including a Bouncy Castle, BBQ, Giant Hoopla, Beat the Goalie, Tombola, Gladiators and even a cider & wine tent.

The day will be concluded with the new annual challenge - “The Big Baytree Shoot-Out”. In which a mixture of age group managers and coaches from Milton Nomads and Weston Crusaders will have a penalty show-down.
There will be the priceless sense of pride and glory awaiting the winners and a session in the stocks with a bunch of wet sponges for the losers!!!

As always, we need as many kind volunteers as possible to make the day a success.

Can you help for just 30 minutes at some point?
• Covering a stall
• Assisting with the set up of Baytree in the morning
• Helping clear up in the afternoon
• Are you a dab hand on the BBQ?
• Perhaps you are happy to run the line during a game
• Put up goals or mark out a pitch.

Whatever help you are able to give, it will make a massive difference and would be greatly appreciated.
We do also need raffle and tombola prizes.
