Minehead Under 10's made the long trip to South Molton on a cold and windy Sunday.
There was a quick first try by James Hodgkiss after kick off, shortly followed by a try from the hosts. There was then some good turning and passing between Joel Floyd and Alfie Kelly-Gallagher to allow Floyd to go ahead and score a second try for Minehead. South Molton then took their second try to even the score. Minehead followed with some excellent mauling to allow Ben Mouzouri to push forward with another try, putting Minehead 15-10 in front at the end of the first half.
The second half started well with some good tackling by all the Minehead players, South Molton pushed forward to take the first try of the second half to get back on even terms. This was quickly followed by James Hodgkiss having a good run to score his second try of the game. South Milton scored again to even the game 20-20. Eddie Howard used his initiative to look for a gap and scored to put Minehead ahead again, this was quickly followed by Samuel Perrone who took his first try of the game. Minehead had a couple of good runs but initially struggled to get past the South Molton defence, after a scrum Perrone was able to look for the space and score his second try, taking Minehead to their seventh try of the match, South Molton were quick to respond and tried again, another scrum followed and again Perrone scored from a scrum to score a hat trick, the game finished with Minehead winning, 40-25.
