All about our club - Who we are
Sussex Mini Merlins are part of the successful Sussex Merlins Rugby League club who play in the Rugby League Conference. We were founded by experienced coaches* and players but are run by our members for our members from across Sussex. The Mini Merlins were formed with four main objectives:
1. To get kids into rugby who haven't tried it already;
2. To develop existing players through the defensive skills and organisation needed in rugby league;
3. To provide kids as much rugby and associated fun as cheaply as possible and the opportunity to make new friends in the rugby world;
4. To do this on a non-partisan, Sussex-wide basis and avoid contention with existing football and rugby union commitments.
Our players come from all over Sussex, some from Rugby Union and football backgrounds, many who've never played a team sport before. Our whole aim is to get you playing and having fun as quickly as possible.
* All coaches are RFL/RFU qualified and CRB checked.
