Founded in 1934, Mitcham Rugby Union Football Club is a traditional, community focused club, which provides opportunities for players of all ages and abilities.
Mitcham RFC have 14 teams competing in all age groups from Under 7 to Veterans and will play over 250 matches in the 2011-12 season which runs from 3rd September 2011 to 29th April 2012.
The seniors (adult) section fields a 1st XV in the London and SE Division League and a 2nd XV and 3rd XV - in the Surrey Merit table. For those who just can't give up playing we have a Vets team too! This is a great testimony to the strength and quality of rugby which is present throughout the senior set-up.
The Club continues to be a force to be reckoned with throughout the Mini and Junior section, with around 150 players in the 10 age groups playing every weekend across London and Surrey.
Mitcham rugby Club is also very proud of the work it does in the community and has received recognition by way of a variety of awards such as Merton community sports club of the year, the RFU Club schools links award 2008 and Sutton community sports club 2006 award for delivering rugby to local Primary and Secondary Schools.
Most recently and prestigiously the club was awarded the title of Surrey Community Club of the year 2010/2011.
