Manager Sean Rogers set out to attack Porthmadog and got his just rewards after putting 3 past the league's 4th placed side

Before setting out today Sean said that he was going to Porthmadog to attack and really believed his side could come away with all 3 points.
In the early stages Mold matched a very good Porthmadog side and after 25 mins Lewis Buckley delivered again as he put his side 1 up.
To go in 1 up at half time would have been good but with only minutes remaining Aarron Stafford made it even better as he put The Alex 2 up with a wonderful goal.
The second half followed the pattern of the 1st and after half an hour Danny Dalton made it 3-0 to Mold. Porthmadog dragged one back late on but it was Mold's day as the players justified their manager's tactics and ran out 1-3 winners.
With other results going Mold's way the gap to Conway in 12th place closes to 4 points and to Llandidloes in 14th grows to 5 points.
Next weekend The Alex have a break from league action as they take on Holywell Town in the 2nd round of the FAW Cup with confidence high after today's result.

At Alyn Park, The Alex reserves fell to a 1-2 defeat at the hands of Gresford reserves. Despite dominating play and hitting the woodwork on at least 2 occasions Mold went in at half time 0-2 down. After the break Mold continued to have the upper hand and eventually managed to get one back but were unable to overturn the visitor's advantage. This was a big surprise for the table topping Alex but managers Mark Parry and Paul Byrne will pick the lads up in time for next weeks visit to Castel Alun.

The Alex Colts travelled the short distance to Argoed and continued with their good form as they ran out 0-7 winners.
Kyle Amos and Andreas Economides bagged 3 each and Wes Brereton weighed in with the other as managers Andy Roberts and Elwyn Roberts guide the lads towards top spot in the Reserves & Colts division.
Next week the Colts travel to Ruthin looking to continue their winning streak.

Well done to all the sides today.

COME ON THE ALEX!
