Talented Flint Side Held At Alyn Park
Alex Peters put Flint ahead on 20 minutes with a simple tap in from 2 yard out but couldn't capitalise on their advantage. On the half hour Flint managed to clear a Tom Gunson close range effort off the line. On the stroke of half time Gunson then turned provider with a sweet layoff for Ryan Kennedy to shoot for goal put he didn't really connect with the ball and the keeper gathered easily. Flint went in at half time a goal to the good but their win was far from secured.
Mold started brightly in the second half and pulled level on 52 minutes thanks to danger man Gunson who fired home from 12 yards. With 20 minutes left on the clock, Flint's Tom Burrows looked to have put the visitors back in the lead with a sweet strike but Mark Askey in the Mold goal tipped the ball over the cross bar. With ten minutes left Mold's Gunson could have claimed all three points but this time he miss hit his shot and Flint keeper Elliot Quinlon gathered the loose ball.
Mold continued their recent form and secured a point against a fancied Flint side and will look to improve with Corwen next to visit Alyn Park.
