ITS HAPPENING...........................!!!!!
Too good not to play but cant play every week??? Over 35??? Well, THIS IS FOR YOU!
The intention this season is to form a vets side and get as many ex players along with current eligible players down to play literally a handful of games (maybe a couple before christmas maybe during the World Cup and a couple after during the 6 nations dependant on club fixtures)
As many of you will know, this is possibly the last season as the club as we know it. What better way than to get us all back down there to reminisce on the trips down to South Wales in the old leagues, the Wrexham/Northern Counties derby's otherwise known as ‘fight club’ or 'Battle of Mold' as i recall the Chronicle printing after one particular game, the 2nd team summer comps, the Crawshays match, the t%*! of the day with Fergies shirts along with many other things which can’t possibly be printed for fear of incrimination........
If it is successful then hopefully we can look to carry it on the following season at the new home of Mold RFC wherever that may be.
Qualifying age for Veterans is over 35yrs and because of liability we have introduced an upper age limit of 95yrs. We would make exceptions to this rule if the player is accompanied by a carer.
Don't worry if you haven't played for a while, you can stay on the pitch for 1 min or 60 mins depending on your lack of fitness and can be substituted on and off during the game. Some of the rules have changed a bit since some of you last played. Jumping in the lineout is now allowed and gouging in your own 22 is acceptable.
INTERESTED??..............well get in touch with me and i'll add you to the database. What i'll need ASAP is for you to fill out a WRU registration form which i can e mail to you.
Lastly but most importantly.............IF ANYONE KNOWS OF ANYBODY WHO MAY BE INTERESTED IN SPONSORING A KIT (AS WE DONT ACTUALLY HAVE ONE..) PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
