Stormin Norman runs amok
Mold were playing host to Ruthin and got off to a perfect start by winning turn over ball, and Oscar Ghattas was on hand to give Mold there first try. Mold continued to pressure Ruthin, and Oliver Smith gave good support to give Mold their second on his excellent debut. Ruthin continued to pressure but Callum Norman gave Mold there third, by side stepping the Ruthin defence. Mold were causing Ruthin all sorts of problems, when Will Sandoz scored a fine try from the restart. Charlie Probert was not to be outdone, crossing the whitewash for Mold’s fifth. Byron Davies was in good form and took Mold to a half time lead with a strong run for Mold’s sixth.
Mold started the second half as strong as they did the first, Byron Davies with a superb try after the turn over, and Will Cottle who was strong throughout grabbing Mold’s eighth try. Matthew Davison scored Mold’s ninth try with a fine solo run, while Callum Norman ended the first game with another strong run to give Mold a deserved 10-4 win.

In the second game Callum Norman carried on where he left off by giving superb support to grab Mold’s first and again showing pace and quick thinking for Mold’s second. Byron Davies ran in Mold’s third with a weaving run through the Ruthin defence, and again to ground Mold’s fourth. But it wasn’t going all Mold’s way when Ruthin ended the half strong and brought the scores level 4-4.
In the second half Mold started strong, and the tagging was better, Oscar Ghattas was showing his pace by scoreing Mold’s fifth. Archie Rickets gave good support to grab his first of the day and Oscar Ghattas ran home Mold’s seventh try. Matthew Davison showed his pace with a fine solo run and Charlie Probert was not to be outdone and grabbed his second of the day. Ruthin tried to come back into the game but Mold were too strong. Byron Davies was showing his talents by scoring a fine try from some good support, while Callum Norman was going to end his, and Mold’s season on a high by grabbing his fifth and Mold’s eleventh try to end the game 11-8.
