All change for the Reserves
It is with some regret that we have to announce the departure of Eric Howard and Luke Tuffs to Sandhurst Town.
Eric and Luke bought in a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to the role, and clearly impressed all those who played under them, and all of us on the committee.
Unfortunately, the travelling from the Camberley/Sandhurst area proved to be a big obstacle, and one that ultimately led to the decision to move on.
We wish them every success in the future, and would like to thank them for all their efforts this season, they are both top football men, and it was a pleasure to have them involved with the club.
Off field the difficult decision has been taken to withdraw the side from the Suburban League for the forthcoming season, and move them into the Surrey South East Combination.
Whilst the Suburban League did allow the side to play at a decent standard, there were mounting costs involved with operating a side at that level, and the decision to move will prove beneficial to the club in the long run.
The Reserve team will play out of Stanley Park, which if deemed to be worthwhile could enable the tea bar to operate throughout the day following the colts training in the morning, and will hopefully allow the youth teams, the opportunity to watch the Seniors play, which we hope will bring both sides of the club closer and demonstrate to the colts that they can progress with the club.
(Below - a token of appreciation from the club to the guys).
