A piece of Rams history

1 month ago By Ian Nathan

The photo above is of our U11 team from 1966

On the far right is one of the extremely rare shots we have of John (Jock) Duffy.
Jock was one of our Founding Fathers who started a Junior Team in 1963 at Aspendale Tech called the Marlins, which in 1965 merged with St Kilda and Kiwis to form the Moorabbin Rugby Union Football Club.

Jock was an Art Teacher and designed our Club Jersey which is still in use today. Now Jock was a little camera shy which is why we have very few photos of him. Other notables in this shot are Bob Morley on the back left (Senior and Premiership Player) and back middle is Roger Cree whos father Laurie was a founding Committee Member.

So as you can see the Moorabbin Rams have had a commitment to fostering Junior Rugby in Victoria for over 52 years, and continue to do so today.
