Originally starting life in the Rugby League Conference (2004) as Thorne Moor Marauders, the club had a slow start in life in the newly formed Yorkshire Division finishing a creditable mid-table, the Marauders contested in the divisional plate final which it went on to win against the South Wakefield Sharks, gaining momentum the club reached the National Final which they lost 29 - 20 to the Cardiff Demons.

The following season saw the Marauders moving to new territory and play in the North Midlands Division, also joining us in the division were Worksop Sharks, Mansfield Storm, Derby City, Sheffield Hillsborough Hawks and the new kids on the block Lincoln City Knights. The Marauders finished runners up in the league to Derby City but finished the season as the North Midlands Champions and beaten National Semi-Finalists.

The 2006 Rugby League Conference season saw the club becoming the champions of the newly named South Yorkshire and North Midlands division when they went through the full league program without losing a fixture on their way to winning the league (minor) championship and also the Divisional Championship, The Marauders finally lost their only game of the season when they went down 36 - 30 to Liverpool Buccaneers in the National Final in what has been called the best final ever.

2007 saw the club change its name to Moorends Thorne Marauders as it merged with the local Winter club Moorends ARLFC. The 2007 season saw us introduce even more new players to Rugby League, we also used the season to blood many youngsters from aged-grouped rugby to Open-age, many of the kids went on to really make their mark in a season that saw us end a respectable fourth in what was the most competitive division in the Rugby League Conference.
