We are proud of the achievements and the excellent attitude of our young players.

Moortown as a club, aims to give our mini and junior players the opportunity to enjoy playing rugby in a safe and friendly environment, where they can develop their skills and have fun at the same time. We therefore work closely with the RFU to ensure that this happens within the ethical guidelines, codes of conduct and best practice as advised by the RFU. On our club website you can find details of our Child Protection, Equity, and Health & Safety Policies along with a copy the RFU’s Guidance for Parents booklet, which contains useful information regarding what you can expect of our coaches and volunteers here at the club, and, what we ask of you as parents and spectators. Please take some time to have read these, and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask your child's coach, or any member of the mini junior committee, whose contact details are also on the website.

This year we have had many changes, not only on the pitch but off the pitch too. Thanks goes to our departing Chairman Chris Armistead, who through a lot of hard work, managed to secure a 2 year sponsorship deal with Help-link to supply full kits for all age groups, junior and senior.

The club house has been put through a makeover and is looking fantastic, with further improvements on going throughout the year. The club has also been very successful over the last 18 months in securing over £100,000 in grants from Sport England and the RFU. These grants have been used to improve our overworked playing surfaces, with the first grant being used on our front pitch in May, which will be available to use late September.

We are also proud of our RFU Seal of Approval, status, which recognises our achievement in reaching and maintaining the standard of a club committed to providing a quality rugby union experiences for young players. This season we will be working towards our re-accreditation of this.

If you have any issues that you feel need raising drop me an email at helen.webb90@ntlworld.com . Alternately you can contact this year’s Director of Coaching – Eugene Johnston on johnsfam4@ntlworld.com

Please also remember that all teams need more players – please keep your ears to the ground at school, youth clubs etc and let the team coaches know of any potential recruits!

A very warm welcome to the 2013/14 season at Moortown RUFC and we hope that you all enjoy the rugby!
