All Saturdays plus Sundays 2nd team fall victum to the weather

Morecambe and Barrow shared four points a piece on Saturday at Woodhill Lane. The game was abandoned at 3.30pm without a ball being bowled, both sides were hopeful of some play at some point during the afternoon, however one last heavy shower at around 3.15pm was the final nail in the coffin and the match was abandoned.

After the game Morecambe skipper Lewis Edge said “It’s been another frustrating Saturday, this is the third game we have lost to the weather this season. Myself and the lads worked hard on the ground today in hope of some cricket however it wasn’t to be. Barrow are a good side and deserve to be top of the league however I felt we had a great chance this afternoon, it wasn’t to be and this wet summer continues.

Morecambe visit Fleetwood next Saturday in the search of victory. Fleetwood lie 2nd in the Northern Premier League table and will be a tough test particularly on their own patch. Fingers crossed for some cricket, updates on the game can be followed via @morecambecc on Twitter.

Morecambe 2nd were also called off at Barrow before midday. Officials from Earnest Pass abandoning the game because of the waterlogged ground, the sides shared 4 points each and Morecambe 2nds stay 8th in Northern Premier League Division 2.
