The club showed a loss for the year and David explained that the main impact on the bottom line is primarily down to a drop in the very top line of the income statement....takings over the bar.
In his President's report David thanked the support of his committee and the hard work they put in, to Lee Jagger in particular for his enthusiasm and fresh ideas that helped to launch Wicketfest, Jack Turton for his donation and to Janet Dowse and Stephen Simcoates in their endeavours which delivered a fresh new kitchen. David also thanked Jacquie Barraclough for taking on the Treasurer role during the year and agreeing to come on the main committee in 2012.
David also highlighted the likes of wicketfest, the u14 tour to Oz and the steel band night as evidence of some of the great things we have done this year. He also praised the performance of the cricket section at both senior and junior levels and praised the Sunday football team for the support they have given to the club.
Looking ahead to 2012, Wicketfest will again be a major event, with bands now queuing up to get involved, whilst Joanne Jenkinson has responded to the request for extra help by agreeing to put on an event to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee in June.
David and his committee have plans to remedy the short fall in takings and there will be more to follow from David himself over the weekend but the key message is WE NEED YOUR HELP AND SUPPORT NOT ONLY DURING THE SUMMER BUT THROUGH THE WINTER AS WELL!
If things are tight why not ask for players and family subs as well. I am sure there are plenty of members like me who are waiting to pay a family subscriptions and are holding on until their kids are due to sign up.
Hi Glen - yeah a good idea. Family subs are £18 for 2012 and early payment would be excellent. It just means you have less to pay out in March, when we are likely to have the signing on night. Playing subs are just about finalised so will get details on website and get playing forms available for download.
