Morpeth 4ths Return To Winning Ways
It is said that right or wrong, what’s done is done; it’s only moments that we borrow. But the thoughts will linger on of the lady and her song when the sun comes up tomorrow
Well, it might take years to see through all these tears. Don’t let go: when you find it you will know. And so it was with Morpeth 4th team, who found their winning combination after a season of tears and lingering thoughts. In an excellent game, Morpeth managed to keep their shape well, and should have been rewarded with more goals.
Morpeth’s young brigade were a credit to the club, with Jamie Macdonald, James Greenbeck, Peter Durance and Adam Sharif all playing excellent games. Indeed, Adam Sharif, in his first outing at the senior level, deservedly won man of the match for his roving midfield display. The only goal came in the first half, when Raj Lodh neatly deflected a shot from the edge of the circle. In the second half Morpeth pressed and pressed, and won a series of penalty corners. Unfortunately the team’s normally slick corner routine was disrupted, and there was no further return for all their efforts.
