Morton Cricket club was founded by George Donald in 1989 . The club was named after George's favourite football team Greenock Morton. The club was founded with a remit to encourage working class people to play the game a policy that remains today. The early years saw the club play a series of freindlies. In 1992 the club undertook its first tour with a visit to little Missenden in Bucks. This was the start of annual tours to various parts of the United Kingdom. In 2000 the club expande its horizons with a trip to Southern Spain Now the club tours twice a year. In the spring a week long tour in Europe and in the Autumn a weekend tour in the UK. For the pat decade the club has competed in league cricket and now has two teams competing in the lower reaches of the East of Scotland League
