Please find details of coaching courses this winter. GT and Alan are the only qualified coaches at the club. to start youth coaching we need more

The winter programme of Coach Award Courses (UKCC2) are now available to book onto. The three courses in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee will enable those wanting to coach children and young players with the skills and knowledge to do so.

Each course consists of 3 x 8 hour modules including:

Module 1 Introduction to Coaching 1
Module 2 Introduction to Coaching 2
Module 3 Coaching Children and Young People
Module 4 Coaching Technical Skill
Module 5 Group Coaching 1
Module 6 Improving Performance
Module 7 Coaching Tactical Play
Module 8 Group Coaching 2

To complete the assesment process coaches must attend or have attended a 1st aid course and a child protection training.

The assessment for this course involves a 15 minute observed practical coaching sessions


A Multiple Choice Questionnaire (30 mins)
Submission of a coaching log book.

East National Cricket Academy. Edinburgh, EH4 3NT

Oct 10,17, 24, 31 Nov 7, 14,21,28 from 6.00-9.00pm



West All Saints Secondary School, Ryehill Road Glasgow, G21 3EN

22,29 October 5,12,19, 26 November December 3, 10 from 6.00-9.00pm



North Dundee University

January 19,20,26, 27 from 10.00-5.00


Steve Paige, Cricket Scotland’s Head of Community Development commented that “This is a great opportunity for those wanting to coach juniors to learn from the best tutors and coaches in Scotland. The only way to improve the quality of junior players in Scotland is to develop the next team of coaches, we expect these courses to fill up quickly and I'd encourage those wishing to coach to book on as soon as possible”.

    Very much agree that coaching is the life blood of any cricket club and that developing and keeping youngsters makes for a better future. ( and grant money from Cricket scotland )
    Given that there is a moderate amount of cost in attaining Level 1or 2 would the club be in a position to subsidise an applicant to any degree ?
