What a weekend . from the low of Saturday night to the unrestrained joy on Sunday'

Saturday was not a good day . The weather was difficult and Morton's first and second elevens lost important league games. The first team still lead division 2 but now have two other teams breathing down their neck. We have no room for any more slip ups. The threes game was abandoned with the opposition 102 for 2 so probably just as well'
On Sunday we had to forget all that and head up north to Forfar for the Small Clubs Cup final with Tranent .
Nathan lost the toss and the opposition chose to bat, Morton opened with Sannah and Sahil and wickets started to fall. Trannent were 3 down for not too many . The fourth wicket began to repair the innings but were still finding runs hard to come by. When the partnership was broken in the 70s Morton kept the pressure on and wickets kept falling but Tranent kept the scoreboard ticking over and finished the innings on 147 for 9.
Morton's reply did not start well and in a similar pattern to the Tranent innings we were 3 down very quickly and only Arun of the top order looked comfortable after he fell for a fine 43 more wickets tumbled and at 82 for 8 things looked bleak .

With Ganesh for company he set off to repair the damage . and proceeded to play what i think is the best innings i have ever seen by a Ton player. As the target got closer the tension ramped up Sannah seemed the calmest man in the ground . The winning runs came with five balls to spare and the celebrations began.
Sannah was deservedly named man of the match but huge complments to Ganesh who hung on in a ninth wicket partnership of over 60 was a vital contribution
