At today's meeting of SNCL clubs the vote was 19 to 13 in favour of a
National League of two divisions of 10 clubs with a further decision to have
no qualifying year. This means that 7 of last season's National League teams
are eligible to join the East League next season. However, some of these
clubs are also members of the Strathmore and Perthshire Cricket Union and
may opt to join their leagues. They have not made a decision on this yet and
until they do so, and inform ESCA, we cannot finalise our leagues for 2012.
The Western District Cricket Union have a Special General Meeting on 5
November which may yet see some of the west clubs scheduled to be in the
2012 National Leagues withdraw, so any decision at that meeting could also
have an impact on the make up of the East Leagues.
I would hope that by the AGM on 8 November these issues will have been
clarified.

Bruce Dixon
