Morton lost the toss and were asked to bat on a glorious sunny afternoon on the Meadows. In front of what was likely the largest crowd at any cricket match in Scotland, Ok so they wern't all paying full attention but the boundary was well occupied, Jones and Amis made a steady start putting on 48 for the first wicket before Amis was caught behind to the bowling of wadhood for 23. For once the good start was not wasted as Matt Lanc and Adam Joined the skipper in further good Partnerships. Adam's hard hitting 42 was the highlight and Andy continued his consistant form with a fine half centuary. The innings came to a close wth Farrell and Deep stealing some outragous runs at the death and the score a highly satisfactory 209 for 5 Only Davey Forbes missing out with a duck.
The Livingstone innings never really got going thanks to some tight bowling and two superb slip catches, one from Matt Lanc and one from Matt Amis. The wickets were shared around the bowlers and only Kumar with 47 slowed the defeat which came in the 30th over with Livvy all out for 113. This was probably Morton's best performance of the season. a really good win.
