Huge effort by the ladies not quite enough to win the Intermediate Plate 2015.

After an amazing pre-match talk by coach Hannah Bussey and captain Nicola Brown we stepped onto the pitch full on confidence and ready to chase the kick off, Supermarine Ladies were to receive first.

After a shaky start from both sides conceding penalties Supermarine were first on the scoreboard with an unconverted try. Not letting this get into the Moseley ladies heads we carried on working hard to get the ball back and eventually did so with a turn over after Supermarine made a break in our defensive line. Unfortunately shortly after this Moseley were on the backfoot again after another turn over which was kicked into Moseley's 22 and after a clearance kick from full back Clare a Supermarine back managed to knock it on for a Moseley lineout. This lineout was then lost and resulted in a converted try this time for Supermarine, the score now 0-12.

We pride ourselves on not letting our heads go down and from the kick off were determined to get some points on the board. The kick off was reclaimed by prop Boe and passed out to centre Dani who pulled in a few defending Supermarine players to create an overlap for fly half Bus to pass out beautifully to scrum half Voms who exploited the overlap to score in the corner for Moseley. The score now 5 - 12.

Onto a bit of a winning streak winger Jess made a break down the side of the pitch to score again for Moseley, unfortunately the wind was a bit too strong for our kicker Bus and managed to go through the posts and come straight back towards her resulting in an unconverted try.
Just before half time Supermarine snuck in another try to leave the result at 10-19.

After another rocky start to the half both sides were struggling to gain composure until Supermarine got into their stride and scored 2 more tries in the second half to claim the win of the plate.

We lost out to a well disciplined side on the day so this was nothing to be upset about, we did ourselves proud and came off the pitch knowing we tried our hardest but also have a lot to work on going into next season.

Bring it on.
