Moseley climb to third in the table after beating Worcester II's

The Moseley vs Worcester kicked off on a very windy and rainy Sunday afternoon, but despite the conditions the Moseley ladies managed to keep themselves ahead of the game and working as a unit consistently throughout the match.

Early on Boe (3) was singled out by the Worcester pack "keep an eye on that blonde girl!" and made herself a threat from the get-go.

20 minutes into the game and no scores from either side an injury occurred in the middle of the pitch, so our beautiful water boy and loyal supporter Goater gracefully ran onto the pitch to quench our thirsts. Something magical must have been in that water as 5 minutes later Boe (3) ran through Worcesters defence with a few players hanging off her to score next to the posts and get the score to 5 - 0.

After the re-start Worcester played confidently and were camped in our 22 for a while, until pocket-rocket Mash (9) came out of nowhere with an amazing tackle forcing a knock-on and regaining Moseley possession. Distant shouts towards the opposition and ref were heard from the sideline up until this part of the match when the ref had had enough and gave the Worcester coach a bit of a telling off and removal from his Christmas card list this year. After these pure draams play ensued again with Moseley still in their 22, until full back Clare (15) ran through the Worcester centres, but with her muffin-top slowing her down she was tackled 7m from the tryline, luckily her trust wing Redhead (11) was always supporting her for times like these and she secured the ball. After a few phases of play amongst the forwards, with Lauren (1) and Sam (7) running hard at the strong defence, the ball got back out to the backs with beautiful hands from Mel (10), Liss (12) and Dani (13) to pop to Clare (15), who had had a rest by now and managed to finish what she started earlier and score under the posts and convert her own kick, bringing the scoreline to 12 - 0 and halftime approached.

The second half began with a good old-fashioned Mexican stand-off where the ball failed to reach the 10-metre line, captain Nic (2) warned her troops that they were not to touch the ball, as if it were a grenade, but after a few tense moments of glaring at each other waiting for the other to break, the Worcester scrum half picked up the ball to lead to a Moseley scrum in the middle of the pitch, which they won. 5 minutes later Mel (10) scores by the posts stepping 2 defenders, converted by Clare (15). The scoreline now 19 - 0

After kick off another great run by Lauren (1) getting us out of danger and into the Worcester 22 but stolen back by the opposition this was Worcesters most attacking part of the game, slowly edging up the pitch they made it back towards the half way line and got the ball wide quickly to their winger who ran past a few Moseley defenders but was double-tackled by Liss (12) and Clare (15), sliding into spectators.

With possession back in our favour but the conditions against us we slowly but surely got the ball safely back to where we wanted it. The Worcester half. But after a few knock-ons we were in the safe hands of turnover machines like Sham (4) and Boe (3) and tackling pro's Olly (8) and Zoe (6). A successful scrum occurred 10 minutes later with Sam (7) breaking the gainline yet again, drawing in multiple defenders to offer the space to Laura (14) to score in the corner for Moseley, increasing the score to 24 - 0.

Our forwards are confident with high ball and gathered the restart well. With Lauren (1) catching and running forwards popping the ball out to quickly to Mel (10) who shipped it out to the backs to gain some more territory with their pace and strength. After a few forward phases of play to edge inches closer to the tryline Boe (3) could smell another try for herself and she scores her second to end the game 29 - 0.
