Mossley vs Avoca
Irish Senior Cup - Round 1
Mossley welcomed Leinster side Avoca to The Glade on Saturday for Round 1 of the Irish Senior Cup. From the off Mossley looked lively and put Avoca under early pressure. The pressure told when Ross McIvor found space in the circle an picked out Simon Todd who slotted the ball past the advancing keeper to take the lead. The home side doubled their lead when Harry Dow latched on to a loose pass and had a shot saved off the line before Stephen Clarke fired in the rebound from close range. Mossley continued to play strong attacking hockey and took a 3-0 half time lead with a Philip Hamill penalty corner strike. The second half saw more of the same from the Glade Men with the Avoca keeper in fine form to keep Mossley from adding to their lead. In defence Mossley were strong throughout and kept Avoca's chances to minimum.
