Kukri North West Hockey League - Division 8N
| Mossley Hill Men's 3s | 1 | vs | 2 | Bolton Men's 5s |
Mossley Hill Men's 3s 1-2 Bolton Men's 5s
Mossley get bronze.
Mossley's chance of finishing as runners up in Div 8N slipped from their grasp as they lost 2-1 to Bolton 5s for the second time this season.
Bolton began brightly but Mossley soon got in to their groove with Brad Tsao looking like a devastating threat down the right if only there was somebody to finish off the several chances he provides. Tsao evaded the Bolton defences on numerous occasions but none of Mossley's attackers could provide the finishing product.
Some tactical changes at half time were put in place and payed dividends as James Taylor-Robinson took advantage of his advanced position to collect the ball and find some space before unleashing a powerful shot past the Bolton keeper.
Mossley were not able to hang on to their lead unfortunately as Bolton two goals which were excruciating for the home side. Firstly a penalty corner was hit in at the back post where the attacker deflected the ball up and over the stick of Simon Pitt on the line.
The game was sealed when Bolton's star man dribbled through on to the keeper who saved his flicked finish only for the ball to, one again, loop past a Mossley defender in to the goal.
After going three games without a point, Mossley would welcome the chance to finish the season with a win against the other Bolton side next week.
