Despite the dramatic score-line the under-15 final was a close fought and highly entertaining encounter with both sides going hell for leather throughout.
Nine tries were scored in an action-packed first-half, Rachael Cook and Rhona Lloyd crossing for a pair of Wanderers tries (one converted by Lucy Park
) before Tamara Morrison got Glasgow’s first points on the board, 12-5.
Murrayfield responded well with Cook and Lloyd registering another two tries before Rebecca Main got one back for Glasgow to keep her side in contention, 24-10.
Wanderers however had other ideas and turned on the style, running in a further three unanswered tries – one from Rebecca Innes and two more from the alarmingly prolific Lloyd who made and surpassed her hat-trick to end the half.
HALF TIME: 41-10
Glasgow started well and, with a try from Siobhan McMillan after just one minute, signalled their refusal to give up on the tie, though, as they had done previously, Wanderers’ fight back was ruthless as they scored another four tries (Cook, Park and Lloyd to complete a double-hat-trick) to Glasgow’s two (McMillan and Naimh Stewart), to end the match.
FULL TIME: 69-25
