Emma Turner, Sula Calendar and Coreen Grant have been selected for the Scotland Girls U19 7s Team.

They will compete at the Sainsbury’s 2016 School Games in Manchester from Thursday 1st to Sunday 4th September 2016. Well done, girls! Enjoy the experience and do the club proud.

The Sainsbury’s 2016 School Games (School Games) is a multi-sport event for the UK’s elite young athletes of School age with around 1,600 young sports stars expected to take part in twelve current and future Olympic and Paralympic Sports. This creates for the vast majority of athletes a vital first experience of a major multi-sport, high level, international event that will stand them in good stead as they aspire to become the Olympians or Paralympians of the future.

The event begins on the Thursday 1st September with an induction to the Athletes’ Village, team and sport meetings, and the Opening Ceremony. The event concludes on the Sunday with the Closing Ceremony at the end of the day’s competition.

The Games promises to be a fantastic celebration of youth sport and we hope that it will inspire the competitors to go for gold in the spirit of friendship and fair play. If you would like further information regarding the Sainsbury School Games, please visit http://www.2016schoolgames.com.
