Opening fixtures Sat 12th Aug

“37 goals were scored in the 12 matches”

Yesterday's opening fixtures saw 4 home wins; 2 draws and 6 away victories, unfortunately, including Kettering's 2 - 1 success at Arbour Park.

Highest scorers were Redditch United, who beat Dunstable Town 5 - 0 at home and Banbury United who won 5 - 1 , also at home, against Dorchester Town.

There was only one goalless draw (Merthyr v Hitchin)

Perhaps the most surprising result was at Kings Langley where the home team held Hereford United 3 - 3, when, having led 2 - 0 after 55 minutes, they conceded three goals in just 11 minutes, yet managed to come back with a 95th minute equaliser.

Top scorers were Dion Angus (Redditch United) with a hat-trick and Victor Osobu (Chesham United) who hit a brace.

Highest attendances were recorded at Kings Lynn (827 spectators), Slough Town (760) and Weymouth (665)
