4 months ago By David Hamlet

A paucity of goals

“Dulwich Hamlet entertain East Thurrock United tonight, Wed 8th Aug”

Dulwich Hamlet came from behind to beat East Thurrock United 2 - 1 at home with a 90th minute winner. Attendance 727

Matches Played 10: Home Wins 6; Draws 3; Away Wins 1 - goals scored 17

Last minute goals gave fancied Billericay Town a home equaliser; and a victory to Hemel Hempstead away to Rebels last opponents, Hampton. Woking scored another late winner.

After just two matches only three teams have a 100% record - Hemel Hempstead, Dartford and Woking.

Top gates of the night were: 2,145 (at Torquay); 1,670 (at Woking); 1,351 (at Billericay) and 1,220 (at Dartford).

Given the relative paucity of goals scored, only one player scored a brace - Herschel Watt (Hemel Hempstead). Two players received their marching orders - Taurean Roberts (Hampton & Richmond) and Ben Herd (St. Albans City).

One 2nd round match is being played tonight - Dulwich v East Thurrock.

The top clash this coming weekend will feature two of the three teams with a 100% record - Dartford v Hemel Hempstead.
