Audio Managers Interview
Report by Ade, Rebels Radio.
With the start of a new month, Slough were hoping for a change of luck and hoped it would start of with the visit of an inconsistent Dunstable side. Both sides were out of form and had only drawn 7 games out of 61 between the two so a victory for one side was the most likely outcome.
Dunstable started the brighter but only for the first 10 minutes as Slough grew into the game but this still resulted in a poor 45 minutes from both sides. The only real effort of note came when home debutant Williams headed goalwards but was thwarted by an outstanding reflex save from Smith in the visitors goal.
The 2nd half had to be better than the first and Slough had clearly upped their tempo and work rate , and scored 7 minutes into the half when a goalmouth scramble saw the ball break to DUNN who fired home from close range despite bodies on the line.
The game seemed to fizzle out with both teams failing to create clear cut chances, even though with both teams going down to ten men with 17 minutes left as Dunstable's Oyinsan and Slough's Smart both receiving reds, Smart's being a second yellow.
Dunn's goal was all that separated the sides , and although an ugly 3 points to get it was what was needed. On Tuesday Slough entertain Weymouth looking to add to todays victory, kick off is 7.45pm
