This workshop aims to increase awareness of safeguarding and protecting children, helping coaches to recognise signs of abuse and poor practice, and deal sensitively and effectively with issues that arise.

Reviews
This workshop provides an understanding of child protection in sport, being better informed about legislation and developing a child centred approach to coaching. A key underlying message of the course is about coach/volunteer protection and ensuring coaches do not get themselves into situations which could be misconstrued.

John Mitchell, Chairman - Humber Angling Action Group

It also prompts a review of coaching practice to ensure that sport provides a positive and enriching experience for children.

Please note: All delegates attending this course must be aged 18 or over. Where this is not possible and only in special circumstances 16 and 17 year olds can attend if chaperoned by an appropriate adult. We can organise a workshop group solely for 16 to 17 year olds, please contact the office for details
